1 These are different tests of different properties. Pull-off adhesion measures the force to separate a real bonded joint and is limited by the bond interface and the substrate; flexural strength measures a beam of cured resin in bending and inherently produces much larger numbers. Neither manufacturer publishes the other's test, so the two values cannot be compared to each other.

2 Also not directly comparable. Tenax publishes a stated continuous in-service temperature range; Integra publishes results of a temperature cycling test (ASTM D1183). A cycling test result is not a continuous service rating.

Why Fabricators Seam with GLAXS

It's not an epoxy. It's not a polyester. It's not an MMA.
GLAXS is Tenax's own Hybrid Polymer chemistry, purpose-built for visible seams in stone, quartz, and porcelain. Methacrylate adhesives get the job done, but every installer knows the tradeoffs: the smell that fills a finished kitchen, and the risk of shadowing on light, translucent material. GLAXS is a zero-VOC, low-odor formulation that leaves no halos or dark patches — even on white quartzite, Calacatta-look porcelain, and light marble, where a stained seam means a rejected top.

A seam you can actually polish.
GLAXS cures to a smooth, glossy, low-shrinkage surface that's ready to cut and polish in about an hour at shop temperature. The result is the tight, wet-look seam that separates a fabricated joint from a caulked one. Shore D 80 hardness when cured.

Fast where it counts.
Gel time of 3–5 minutes means parts stop moving fast, with tack-free in 25 minutes. Assemble the miter, set your clamps, and you're cutting and polishing in about an hour — no overnight cure, no tying up the bench.

Color match is not an afterthought.
24+ cartridge colors matched against a library of 3,500+ quartz, porcelain, and stone materials from the leading surface brands. Pre-dosed 2:1 cartridge with static mixing nozzle — no batch mixing, no ratio errors, no wasted material.

Works when the shop is cold.
GLAXS applies and cures at any temperature above 34°F. Methacrylate seam adhesives like Horizon publish an operating window of 60°–80°F — below that, you're outside spec. Unheated shop in January, early-morning outdoor kitchen install, jobsite miter in the shoulder season: GLAXS keeps working.

Indoor and outdoor, without the yellow.
A zero-yellowing formulation, verified in Q-Sun climatic chamber testing simulating a full year of outdoor exposure — sun, rain, and thermal shock — with no color change. Rated for cured service from -13°F to 140°F. (Not for submerged applications.)

The Details

  • 215 ml pre-dosed 2:1 bi-axial cartridge (requires Tenax-approved 2:1 professional gun)
  • Includes 2 static mixing nozzles
  • 18-month shelf life in pack / 12 months out of pack (store 64°–77°F)
  • Application temperature above 34°F (1°C); not for submerged applications
  • Substrates: porcelain, ceramic, sintered stone, engineered quartz, granite, marble, quartzite

Usage Notes (per Tenax TDS)

  • Before bonding, it is mandatory to discard the first 10–20 g of extruded product (~10 cm / 4"), and again each time a new mixer is fitted
  • After a pause longer than 3 minutes (at ~68°F), purge another 10–20 g before continuing; after a pause longer than 5 minutes, fit a new mixer
  • Warmer shop temperatures shorten these windows
  • Lightly sand glossy or smooth surfaces before bonding; surfaces must be clean, dry, and grease-free
