Vacuum brazed diamond core bits use a single layer of diamond grit electroplated or brazed directly to the steel body — producing a thin-walled, sharp-cutting bit ideal for drilling precise holes in hard, brittle materials like dense porcelain, sintered stone, glazed ceramic, and granite. The brazed construction puts the diamonds directly in the cutting path with nothing dulling the initial contact, making these bits noticeably faster through hard material on the first hole. 

Because the diamond layer is a single coat rather than a segmented block, vacuum brazed bits are best suited for applications where hole count per bit is lower but cut quality and entry precision are critical — faucet holes in granite countertops, outlet penetrations in porcelain tile, and fixture holes in stone where a clean, chip-free entry matters. Use with the DiStar CoolGEL drilling lubricant for extended bit life during dry drilling.
