The Proxxon STS 12/E is a 12V Micromot jig saw designed for curved cuts in wood, corrugated board, plastics, and non-ferrous metals — and is particularly well suited to gourd carving and decorative woodwork. Variable speed from 2,000 to 5,000 strokes per minute lets you match the cutting rate to the material, and the included rounded foot attachment enables clean cuts on curved and rounded surfaces where a flat foot would rock or slip. Two blades (coarse and fine) are included to get you started.

Blade Selection Guide
The STS 12/E accepts standard jig saw blades. Two types are available separately:
- HSS blades (2-pack): For cutting non-ferrous metals and harder materials. HSS construction handles the heat and hardness of metal cutting.
- Special steel blades (2-pack): For wood, corrugated board, and plastics. Optimized tooth geometry for clean cuts in softer materials.

Is an AC adapter included?
No — the STS 12/E requires a 12–18V DC adapter of at least 2.0A, sold separately. The NG 2/S or NG 5/E are both compatible.
What is the rounded foot for?
The rounded foot replaces the standard flat foot and allows the saw to rest stably on curved or rounded surfaces — essential for gourd carving and cutting on cylindrical or spherical workpieces where a flat foot would rock.
Can I use this for interior cuts (plunge cuts)?
Yes — the STS 12/E is specifically noted as ideal for clean interior cuts. Drill a starter hole, insert the blade, and cut from the inside out.
