The Lustro Italiano Marble Stain & Etch Remover Restoration Kit is the most complete solution for marble stain and etch damage from household foods, liquids, and substances. It addresses all three damage scenarios: staining alone, etching alone, and combined stain-plus-etch damage from colored acidic liquids like wine, coffee, and citrus juice.
The kit includes both the stain remover poultice and the etch remover powder — use one or both depending on the damage — plus the impregnating sealer to fully restore protection after treatment. Note: For rust stains, use the Marble Rust Remover & Restoration Kit — rust requires a different chelate-based treatment. The Stone Sealer does not prevent etching from acidic substances.

Which Damage Does This Kit Treat?
- Stain only (color in the stone, no dull spot) — use Stain Remover Poultice Powder, then reseal
- Etch only (dull spot, no color) — use Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder, then reseal
- Stain + etch combined (colored acidic liquid: wine, coffee, citrus) — use Stain Remover Poultice first, then Etch Remover Powder, then reseal
The Full Restoration Sequence
- Clean the surface with Natural Stone Cleaner and allow to dry.
- Remove the stain (if present): Mix Stain Remover Poultice Powder with water to a paste, apply over the stained area, cover with plastic wrap (poke holes), and wait 24–48 hours. Remove the dried poultice.
- Restore the polish (if etched): Apply Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder to the dulled area and rub by hand with a soft cloth for approximately 3 minutes until the polish is restored.
- Reseal: Apply Stone Sealer to the treated area (and the full surface if needed). Allow to absorb for 5 minutes, wipe off excess, and allow 6 hours before food contact.
- Maintain: Use Stone Polish & Sealer Spray 1–2 times per month to maintain shine and sealer protection.

How is this different from the Marble Stain & Etch Remover Kit?
This Restoration Kit includes the Stone Sealer for full impregnating resealing after treatment. The Marble Stain & Etch Remover Kit is the lighter version — same stain and etch removers plus cleaner and polish spray, without the sealer. Choose this kit when you want to fully reseal after restoration.
Do I need to use both the stain remover and the etch remover?
Only if you have both types of damage. Use the stain remover for color penetration, the etch remover for surface dulling. If you only have one type of damage, use only the relevant product.
Does the sealer prevent future etching?
No. Sealing protects against staining, not etching. Etching is a chemical reaction between acid and marble's calcium carbonate that sealing cannot prevent. Avoid acidic substances on marble surfaces.
Can I use this kit on travertine or limestone?
Yes — all products in this kit are safe for marble, travertine, limestone, and other calcium-based stones.
What if I have rust stains instead of organic stains?
