The Proxxon suede polishing discs are used with polishing compound for ultra-fine high-gloss finishing on metal, non-ferrous metals, ceramics, porcelain, plastics, and lacquered woods. Suede is the softest of the three Proxxon polishing disc materials — making it the ideal final buffing step after felt and cotton passes, where its gentle action removes the last micro-scratches and brings surfaces to a mirror-like gloss without risk of re-scratching. The 2.35mm (3/32") shank fits the standard Micromot collet system. Two discs per pack.

Felt vs. Cotton vs. Suede — The Complete Polishing Sequence
For best results, work through all three disc types in sequence:
- Felt discs (No. 28299) — first pass: Firmest construction. Removes fine scratches and builds initial gloss with polishing compound.
- Cotton discs (No. 28297) — second pass: Medium softness. Refines the surface and removes felt disc micro-scratches.
- Suede discs (No. 28298) — this disc — final pass: Softest construction. Removes the last micro-scratches and brings the surface to a mirror-like high-gloss finish.

Is polishing compound included?
No — polishing compound is not included with this pack. The Proxxon Polishing Accessory Set (No. 28285) includes solid polishing compound along with a full range of felt, silicone, and buffing accessories.
What shank size do these use?
3/32" (2.35mm) — compatible with the 2.35mm collet in the Proxxon MICROMOT Steel Collet Set (No. 28940).
Do I need all three disc types?
For a true mirror finish, yes — each disc type removes the micro-scratches left by the previous one. For less demanding applications, felt + suede (skipping cotton) can also produce excellent results.
