Description
The Proxxon Tungsten Carbide Cut-Off Wheel (No. 28838) is a ×20mm tungsten carbide cutting disc for Proxxon Micromot tools, supplied with mandrel on a 2.35mm shank. At 2mm thick, this is a robust cut-off wheel for slitting, parting, and profiling in wood, carbon fiber (CFK), glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP), rubber, and silicone — materials where standard abrasive cut-off wheels would wear rapidly or clog.
Cooling holes in the disc body reduce heat buildup during cutting — critical when cutting heat-sensitive materials like rubber and silicone, and when making extended cuts in CFK and GRP where friction heat can delaminate fibers. Tungsten carbide construction maintains cutting performance far longer than abrasive discs in these abrasive composite materials.
