Description
The professional surface repair and seam blending pad system for quartz, engineered stone, marble, and granite. Weha Donkey Face Polish & Inline Polishing Pads (formerly Monkey Pads — same pad, new name) are top-grade diamond sponge polishing pads developed for surface repair, scratch removal, seam blending, and texture matching on natural and engineered stone surfaces.
The unique diamond sponge matrix holds a significant amount of water — making Donkey Pads especially effective for interior repairs where water access is limited. Hook & loop backed for use with standard backup pads on angle grinders and inline edge polishers.
Available Sizes & Grits
- Sizes: 4", 5", 6"
- Grits: 120, 220, 400, 600, 1000, 2000, 3000, 6000, 10000
- Backing: Hook & loop
- Recommended RPM: 800–1200 RPM (do not exceed 1200 RPM)
Which Grit to Start With
- 120–220 Grit — heavy scratch removal and surface leveling; use when damage is deep or surface is significantly dulled
- 400–600 Grit — moderate scratch removal and seam blending starting point; most common entry grit for quartz and granite repair
- 1000–2000 Grit — intermediate polishing; use after lower grits to build gloss and blend texture
- 3000–6000 Grit — fine polishing; approaching factory finish on most surfaces
- 10000 Grit — final gloss; use to match factory polish on quartz and high-gloss granite
How to Use — Quartz & Engineered Stone
For scratch removal, begin with a standard 3-step or 7-step diamond pad sequence using a rigid backup pad. After completing initial polishing steps, transition into the Donkey grit sequence starting at the appropriate grit (typically 600), then progress upward (1000, 2000, 3000, 6000 if necessary) using a fanning technique to blend the repair area into the surrounding surface.
How to Use — Marble
For etch mark removal and surface refinishing, begin with a lower grit Donkey pad (typically 600) at low RPM. Progress through finer grits as needed to restore gloss and match the surrounding finish.
How to Use — Granite
Start with a standard diamond polishing sequence to remove damage. Then transition into the Donkey pad progression beginning at the appropriate grit and working upward until the finish matches the factory polish.
Operating Recommendations
- RPM: 800–1200 RPM — do not exceed 1200 RPM
- Use a consistent fanning pattern to blend repairs into surrounding surface
- For interior jobs, soak pads in water for at least 20 minutes prior to use to maximize water retention
Key Features
- Diamond sponge matrix — holds water for controlled polishing; ideal for interior repairs with limited water access
- Full grit range — 120 through 10000 grit; complete repair system in one product line
- Seamless texture blending — reduces visible repair halos; matches factory surface texture
- Hook & loop backing — compatible with standard backup pads and inline edge polisher wheels
- 3 sizes — 4", 5", 6" for angle grinders, inline polishers, and edge machines
- Shop & in-home use — suitable for fabrication shop and jobsite repair applications
