Tenax Cartridge System Guide — Which Gun for Which Cartridge

Every Tenax cartridge adhesive requires a specific gun and mix ratio. Use the wrong gun and you’ll get an incorrect mix ratio, wasted product, or a bond that fails under load. The Tenax cartridge system isn’t complicated — but it does require matching the right gun to the right cartridge before you start.

This guide covers every Tenax cartridge adhesive, the gun it requires, the mix ratio, and the right mixing tip.

Understanding Mix Ratios

Cartridge adhesives are two-component systems — resin and hardener dispensed simultaneously through a static mixing nozzle. The mix ratio determines how much of each component is dispensed per stroke. Getting this wrong means the adhesive won’t cure correctly, or won’t cure at all.

  • 1:1 — equal parts resin and hardener. Used for rodding and structural bonding adhesives (TeRod, Clipboss).
  • 2:1 — two parts resin to one part hardener. Used for Glaxs, Mastidek, and Strongbond cartridges.
  • 10:1 — ten parts resin to one part hardener. Used for Titanium, Multibond, and Integra cartridges.

Each ratio requires a different gun. A 2:1 gun cannot dispense a 10:1 cartridge correctly, and vice versa. The cartridge itself is also sized differently — 215ml for 2:1 systems, 250ml for 10:1 systems, and 400ml for 1:1 rodding systems.

Cartridge-to-Gun Reference

GLAXS Sulzer Cartridge — 215ml, 2:1

UV-stable, zero-yellowing epoxy for color-matched seams on ceramic, porcelain, quartz, and natural stone. 24+ colors. The go-to cartridge for visible seams on porcelain and engineered stone.

Mastidek Cartridge — 215ml, 2:1

The only cartridge adhesive engineered specifically for Cosentino Dekton. 19 color-matched options. Fast cure — cut and polish in 45–60 minutes. Outdoor rated.

Lapitec Strongbond Cartridge — 215ml, 2:1

Engineered for Lapitec sintered stone surfaces. Same gun and tip as Glaxs and Mastidek.

Domo 21 Cartridge — 215ml, 2:1

Structural-strength epoxy in cartridge format. Same bond strength as Domo 10 — the stone will break before the bond fails. White color. Bonds polished, damp, and dry surfaces. Suitable for extreme temperatures.

Tenax Titanium Cartridge — 250ml, 10:1

High-performance adhesive for demanding stone bonding applications. 10:1 ratio requires a dedicated gun — not compatible with 2:1 guns.

Tenax Multibond Cartridge — 250ml, 10:1

Multi-purpose structural adhesive for stone, ceramic, and engineered surfaces. Same gun as Titanium.

TeRod Cartridge — 400ml, 1:1

Fast-curing methacrylate for steel and fiberglass rodding, sink clip installation, and structural bonding of stone to metal and solid surface. 3–6 minute working time; ~90% strength in 10–15 minutes. Not UV stable — not for visible seams.

Clipboss Cartridge — 400ml, 1:1

Structural rodding adhesive for stone slab reinforcement. Same gun as TeRod.

Which Gun Should You Buy?

If you use one cartridge system

Buy the dedicated gun for that system. Dedicated guns are preset for their ratio, simpler to operate, and typically more affordable than the universal option.

If you use multiple cartridge systems

The M200XMR Universal Cartridge Gun covers 1:1, 2:1, and 10:1 systems by swapping the plunger adapter. One gun for your entire Tenax adhesive lineup — the right choice for full-service fabrication shops.

Mixing Tips

Every cartridge application requires a single-use static mixing nozzle. Never reuse a tip — cured adhesive inside the tip will block the next application. Always dispense a small amount to waste before applying to ensure the ratio is correct and the tip is fully primed.

GLAXS Without a Cartridge Gun

If you don’t have a cartridge gun or are working on smaller jobs, the GLAXS system is also available in two non-cartridge formats:

  • GLAXS Easy Dosing Tubes — tube-based dosing; no gun required; ideal for smaller repairs and installations
  • GLAXS BM 1:1 Kit — bulk format for high-volume bonding; manual measuring at 100:45 ratio
