Description

Ultra-Premium Impregnating Sealer for Granite, Marble, Travertine & Natural Stone

Lustro Italiano Stone Sealer is a solvent-based impregnating penetrating sealer that protects natural stone from the stains most common in kitchens and work areas — oils, grease, water-based liquids, and food spills. It penetrates into the microporosities of the stone to create a heavy-duty barrier from within, without altering the stone's color or leaving any surface film.

Lasts 4–5 years on countertops with normal use. Approximately one year on high-traffic floors. Works on polished, honed, brushed, and antique finishes. Also suitable for grout, tile, concrete, pavers, brick, and block.

Note: Does not provide anti-etch protection on marble. Acidic substances (wine, citrus, tomato, coffee) will still etch marble surfaces. For etch removal, use Lustro Italiano Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder.

Key Features & Benefits

Impregnating Penetrating Formula

Penetrates into the stone's micropores to seal from within — not a surface coating. Protects against staining without changing the stone's appearance or leaving a film on the surface.

4–5 Year Protection on Countertops

One application typically lasts 4–5 years on countertops under normal use — far longer than spray-on maintenance sealers. Annual reapplication on high-traffic floors.

Protects Against Oils & Water-Based Stains

Shields against everyday household oils (olive oil, vegetable oil, grease) and water-based liquids — the most common staining agents on kitchen stone.

Works on All Natural Stone Finishes

Effective on polished, honed, brushed, and antique stone finishes. Also seals grout, tile, concrete, pavers, brick, and block.

Compatible Surfaces

  • Granite
  • Marble
  • Travertine
  • Limestone
  • Grout
  • Tile and ceramic
  • Concrete
  • Pavers, brick, and block

How to Use

  1. Clean the stone with Lustro Italiano Natural Stone Cleaner to remove all surface oils, food, and dirt.
  2. Remove any existing stains before sealing — the sealer will lock in stains that are already present.
  3. Apply sealer with a brush, sponge, or pour onto the stone and spread with a paper towel.
  4. Allow to absorb for approximately 5 minutes. If the stone absorbs all of the sealer, apply more. Once absorption stops, wipe off all excess from the surface.
  5. For first-time application, apply a second coat after 1 hour using the same method.
  6. Allow 6 hours before food contact on countertops. On floors, wait 24 hours before use.
  7. Maintain with Lustro Italiano Natural Stone Cleaner and Stone Polish & Sealer Spray for ongoing protection.

Note: Solvent-based — will have an odor during application. Odor dissipates within approximately 1 hour. Test on a small, hidden area before full application.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it last?

4–5 years on countertops under normal use. Approximately 1 year on high-traffic floors. Reapply when water no longer beads on the surface.

Will it change the color or appearance of my stone?

No. The impregnating formula penetrates below the surface without altering color or leaving any film on the stone.

Does it protect against etching on marble?

No. Sealing does not prevent etching — etching is a chemical reaction between acid and the calcium carbonate in marble, not a staining issue. For etch removal, use Lustro Italiano Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder.

How do I know when to reapply?

When water no longer beads on the surface and instead soaks in, it's time to reseal. You can also do a simple water test — place a few drops of water on the stone and wait 5 minutes. If the stone darkens, it's absorbing water and needs resealing.

Is it safe for food-contact surfaces?

Yes — after the 6-hour cure period on countertops.

Can I use it on quartz?

This sealer is formulated for natural stone. For engineered quartz, use Lustro Italiano Quartz Stone Sealer instead.
