Description

Remove Organic Stains & Reseal Granite & Natural Stone — Complete 4-Product Kit

The Lustro Italiano Natural Stone Stain Remover & Restoration Kit is designed for granite, marble, and other natural stone surfaces dealing with organic staining from everyday foods and liquids — oil, grease, wine, tea, coffee, mustard, and similar household substances. It removes the stain with a poultice process, then reseals the surface to restore protection and help prevent future staining.

Removing a stain without resealing leaves the stone vulnerable to the same damage again. This kit addresses both steps in one package.

Note: For rust stains, use the Lustro Italiano Rust Remover Powder or Marble Rust Remover & Restoration Kit — rust requires a different chelate-based treatment. The Stone Sealer does not prevent etching on marble; for etch marks, use Lustro Italiano Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder.

What's Included

The Stain Removal & Restoration Sequence

  1. Clean the surface with Natural Stone Cleaner and allow to dry.
  2. Remove the stain: Mix Stain Remover Poultice Powder with water to a paste, apply over the stained area, cover with plastic wrap (poke holes), and wait 24–48 hours. Remove the dried poultice — the stain comes with it.
  3. Clean again with Natural Stone Cleaner and allow to dry completely.
  4. Reseal: Apply Stone Sealer with a brush, sponge, or paper towel. Allow to absorb for 5 minutes, wipe off excess. For first-time application, apply a second coat after 1 hour. Allow 6 hours before food contact.
  5. Maintain: Use Stone Polish & Sealer Spray 1–2 times per month to maintain shine and sealer protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What stains does this kit treat?

Organic stains — oil, grease, wine, tea, coffee, mustard, and similar household food and liquid stains. For rust stains, use the Marble Rust Remover & Restoration Kit. For etch marks, use Lustro Italiano Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder.

Does it work on granite as well as marble?

Yes — the stain remover poultice and sealer work on granite, marble, travertine, limestone, and other porous natural stone. On granite, there's no risk of etching from the treatment itself.

Why do I need to reseal after stain removal?

Staining typically occurs because the stone's sealer has worn down or was never applied, allowing the staining substance to penetrate the pores. Removing the stain without resealing leaves the stone vulnerable to the same damage again. Resealing after treatment restores the protective barrier.

How long does the seal last?

4–5 years on countertops under normal use. Maintain with the Stone Polish & Sealer Spray between full treatments.

What if the stain doesn't come out after one application?

Older or deeper stains may require 2–3 applications. Allow the stone to dry fully between applications. If the stain persists after multiple treatments, it may have penetrated too deeply for poultice treatment alone.

Does the sealer prevent etching on marble?

No. Sealing protects against staining, not etching. For etch marks on marble, use Lustro Italiano Etch & Water Mark Remover Powder.
