Description
The Tenax Epoxart Kit 3:1 is a professional two-component epoxy system engineered for applications where crystal-clear transparency, deep penetration, and extended working time are critical. Its water-thin viscosity flows freely into hairline cracks and micro-fissures in granite, marble, and natural stone — curing to a virtually invisible, UV-stable finish that won't yellow over time.
Ideal for fabricators and stone restoration professionals who need maximum clarity in crack fills, fiberglass reinforcement, or small resin mass applications.
Key Features
- High transparency — crystal-clear cure that disappears into the crack, preserving the stone's natural look
- Low viscosity — water-thin formula wicks deep into hairline cracks and micro-fissures by capillary action
- Slow hardening — extended open time gives full control during application and fiberglass layup
- Excellent UV stability — resists yellowing from sunlight; ideal for outdoor stone and countertops near windows
- Good cold reactivity — performs reliably in cooler shop or jobsite conditions
- Medium hardness — cured epoxy flexes slightly to resist re-cracking under load
Ideal Applications
- Hairline and micro-crack filling in granite, marble, quartzite, and natural stone
- Fiberglass mesh reinforcement of fragile or brittle stone slabs
- Creating small resin masses or fills where clarity is essential
- Outdoor stone surfaces and countertops exposed to sunlight
- Cold-environment fabrication shops and jobsites
Kit Contents
- Epoxart A-5004 — 1 kg (Resin, Part A)
- Epoxart B-BM30 — 0.3 kg (Hardener, Part B)
- Total kit weight: 1.3 kg
- Mix ratio: 3 parts resin : 1 part hardener (by weight)
How to Use
- Clean and thoroughly dry the stone surface — remove all dust, oils, and debris from the crack area.
- Measure by weight: 3 parts resin (Part A) to 1 part hardener (Part B); verify dosing pump ratios daily if using automated equipment.
- Mix thoroughly for several minutes using clean plastic tools; clean tools with acetone or butyl acetate.
- Apply directly into cracks — the water-thin formula self-levels and penetrates by capillary action. Wear safety gloves and glasses.
- Allow full cure before grinding, polishing, or loading the surface.
- Reseal containers immediately after use; avoid freezing conditions.
Storage & Shelf Life
- Store below 35°C (95°F), away from heat, direct sunlight, humidity, and freezing
- Resin (Part A): 24-month shelf life at 20–25°C
- Hardener (Part B): 12-month shelf life in original sealed containers
Choosing the Right Epoxart Kit
- Epoxart Kit 2:1 — water-thin, water-clear; best for hairline crack repair by capillary action
- Epoxart Kit 3:1 (this product) — ultra-clear, slow-cure; best for crack filling where maximum transparency and working time are needed
- Epoxart Kit 4:1 — fast-cure, natural effect; best for fiberglass reinforcement and color-sensitive stone
Works Well With
- Tenax Epoxart Kit 2:1 — Water-Thin, Water-Clear — use first for initial crack consolidation before filling with 3:1
- Tenax Epoxart Kit 4:1 — Fast-Cure Natural Effect — for fiberglass mesh reinforcement on the back of slabs
- Tenax Fixtop Knife Grade Epoxy — knife-grade 2-part epoxy for bonding and laminating stone
- Tenax Mixing Cups 12oz (50/Sleeve) — disposable cups for measuring and mixing epoxy components
- Tenax Colored Knife Grade Polyester — for surface chip and void repairs after crack consolidation
